Situational Leadership

Many of learned citizen of Malaysia strongly believe of situational leadership theory. It simply mean, the leader change his leadership approach according to the situation. Some of the 'situation' are the followers, the urgency of the issue, its importance, budget, time, mission, vision, complication of the issue etc. If things is OK, the leader is OK. If things is not so OK, the leader will chase us!

That is why [my own opinion], Saddam Hussein is very suitable leader of Iraq, not the US or their puppets. He was born there, his followers [citizen of Iraq] need that kind of leadership. As Dr Mahathir rightly said, democracy in US and other parts of the world is not the same. So too is Iraq.

But why some Management Gurus did not walk their talk. When the splinters came back to them, they always blame others; the Muslim terrorist [According to FBI record, Muslim make up only 6% of the total terrorist in the world. Jews 7%. The rest?]. We too need to stop blaming others especially our leader.

Back to my issue, UM need Prof Ghauth Jasmon in order to climb back to its glory. I may consider him as transformational leader. Prophet Muhammad, Hitler, Gandhi, and Dr Mahathir [my opinion again] are great transformational leader. Although many may object to this opinion, they have proved their words and action. Many are not happy with them. So does what Prof Ghauth Jasmon is facing now.

I sincerely hope, most will realise that there are things that cannot be compromised. Our target. We have to be objective in whatever we do.

May Allah bless us.
